During the month of August 2020, following the Beirut port explosion, ASC volunteers distributed medical aid to a total of 85 community members from across Lebanon.

This aid was distributed in the form of medicine for chronic and incurable diseases. It came in response to the dire economic and health situation that was made worse by the explosion.

Distribution timeline:

  • On 12 August, aid was delivered to 21 people in Sed Al Baouchrieh, Matn. Beneficiaries received medicine supplies to last them either one or two months.
  • On 24 August, aid was delivered to 42 people in Ksara, Zahle. Beneficiaries received a month’s supply of medicine.
  • On 25 August, aid was delivered to 8 people in Al Hadath, Baabda. Beneficiaries received a month’s supply of medicine.
  • On 30 August, aid was delivered to 14 people from the Syriac neighborhood of Ashrafieh, an area in Beirut heavily affected by the explosion. Beneficiaries received a month’s supply of medicine.
